摘要
PURPOSE: A method and system for optimizing a position-based service by controlling a maximum radius covered by a base station antenna are provided to reduce a probability of failure in determining a position by suitably controlling an MAR(Maximum Antenna Range) value. CONSTITUTION: A testing terminal is turned on(S300). The testing terminal is set in an operation mode(S302). The testing terminal searches a GPS radio wave, extracts C-GPS position information from the GPS radio wave, and temporarily stores it in a memory(S304). An operator changes the testing terminal into an A-GPS(Assisted-Global Positioning System) operation mode(S306). The testing terminal searches a GPS radio wave, extracts A-GPS data from the GPS radio wave, and temporarily stores it in a temporary memory(S308). The testing terminal transmits MAR value optimizing data to a position determining server(S310). The position determining server stores the MAR value optimizing data in an MAR value optimizing database(S312). The position determining server determines whether an MAR value optimizing process is required(S314). If so, the position determining server calculates a distance between a corresponding radio base station and the farthest measuring point(S316). The position determining server sets the calculated maximum distance value as a new MAR value of the corresponding radio base station(S318), updates the calculated maximum distance value with the new MAR value and stores it(S320).
