摘要

PURPOSE: To remove arsenic from contaminated plume through the permeable reactive barrier smoothly during contaminated plume migrate along groundwater stream by constructing a permeable reactive barrier comprising iron-oxide coated sand as filler, thereby carrying out in-situ remediation of arsenic-contaminated soil and groundwater. CONSTITUTION: The arsenic adsorbent comprises iron-oxide coated sand as an effective component, wherein the iron oxide is hematite. The permeable reactive barrier comprises iron-oxide coated sand as filler to adsorb arsenic, wherein the iron-oxide is hematite. The method for preparing arsenic adsorbent comprises a step of (a) mixing hematite colloidal solution, sand and water in a certain ratio; and (b) a step of coating sand with hematite by controlling ionic strength of the mixture, wherein the ionic strength is 10¬-2 M.
