PURPOSE: A pedestal for a washing machine is provided to easily fix the washing machine while legs are assembled to the washing machine and to damp vibration transmitted to the outside in operating the washing machine. CONSTITUTION: A pedestal for a washing machine is composed of a pedestal body(62) for supporting the washing machine at the predetermined height; a leg(64) having an upper end fixed to a lower part of the washing machine and smaller than the diameter of a lower end; and a pedestal(66) having a hanging slot inserted with the leg. One end of the pedestal is rotatively connected to the pedestal body by a hinge and the other end is fixed to fasten the leg to the pedestal body. The hanging slot is formed longitudinally in the rotational direction to change the fixation position of the leg as the pedestal rotates.
