PURPOSE: A vibration type angular velocity sensor applicable to an angular velocity sensing apparatus for outputting a differential waveform between two vibration type sensor units is provided to improve the angular velocity sensing accuracy by reducing a residual in-phase component noise level in a differential waveform without being adversely influenced by various factors causing such variation or noise. CONSTITUTION: A vibration type angular velocity sensor includes a sensing part having a first sensor unit(100) and a second sensor unit(200). The first sensor unit includes a vibrator(4a) and a sensing waveform generating portion(15). The second sensor unit includes a vibrator(4b) and a sensing waveform generating portion(16). The vibrators oscillate in a predetermined standard vibrating direction X. When an angular velocity is applied to each vibrator, an angular velocity oscillatory component is generated in a predetermined angular velocity sensing direction Y that is different from the standard vibrating direction X. The angular velocity sensing direction Y is perpendicular to the standard vibrating direction X. Respective sensing waveform generating portions detect the angular velocity oscillatory component and generate an angular velocity sensing waveform based on the angular velocity oscillatory component.
