METHOD FOR GENETIC TRANSFORMATION OF PANAX GINSENG VIA AGROBACTERIUM-MEDIATED TRANSFORMATION TO EFFECTIVELY REGENERATE PLANTS FROM EMBRYOGENIC CALLUS OF PANAX GINSENG

PURPOSE: A method for genetic transformation of Panax ginseng via Agrobacterium-mediated transformation is provided, thereby effectively regenerating plants from embryogenic callus of Panax ginseng, so that transformed Panax ginseng with high quality can be produced. CONSTITUTION: The method for genetic transformation of Panax ginseng via Agrobacterium-mediated transformation comprises the steps of: inserting 3% sucrose and 2,4-D as a growth into MS medium; co-culturing embryogenic callus of Panax ginseng with Agrobacterium containing foreign gene in MS medium to induce somatic embryo of Panax ginseng; removing Agrobacterium using antibiotics; selecting transformed somatic embryo using kanamycin; and regenerating the selected somatic embryo.
