PURPOSE: A method for configuring and using home state information in a home network and a system therefor are provided to define an architecture which can systematically express home state information, and to suggest an interface and a software configuration module for using the architecture. CONSTITUTION: An information collection module of a home agent collects information from all information sources within a home(S710), and generates home state information on the collected information(S711). The module transmits the generated information to a home state analysis module and a home state storage module(S712,S713). The home state analysis module analyzes the home state information, and retransmits a feedback to the home state storage module(S713), then returns to an initial routine for collecting the information. Event information is finally notified when necessary after analyzing a home state(S714,S715).
