PURPOSE: A pager type information receiving terminal having a current consumption management function and a method for managing current consumption are provided to minimize battery power consumption while a car is in an OFF state by deactivating an information receiving cap code. CONSTITUTION: An RF module(122) receives an RF signal of a designated channel through an antenna and amplifies it. The RF module(122) filters the amplified signal, converts it into its original signal band, waveform-shapes it to digital data and then outputs it. A flex decoder(123) decodes the digital data and outputs it. An input unit(24) includes several buttons for managing receiving of a radio paging signal. Traffic information received by a terminal(14) is transmitted to a car automatic navigation unit and then displayed. A memory(26) stores various data used for controlling the terminal(26), and also stores one cap code for information receiving and another cap code special for the terminal(14). 6-pin serial connector(150) is used between the terminal(14) and the car automatic navigation unit, of which two pins are power supply line(152) and a ground line(154). The ground line(154) is commonly used with the car automatic navigation unit.
