The structural panel has a thin inner and outer surface sheet bonded to a lightweight structural inner core of honeycomb material. The inner surface sheet is for accommodating equipment for generating heat to be dissipated and the outer surface sheet is for dissipating heat such as radiation. The plurality of closely spaced heat pipes inside the panel are thermally coupled to each other and to an inner surface sheet for receiving heat from the equipment being mounted. The plurality of spaced heat pipes inside the panel are perpendicular to the spaced spaced heat pipes and thermally coupled to the spaced spaced heat pipes near the outer surface sheet and the intersection thereof. The heat to be dissipated flows out along the short, direct and effective passage from the equipment towards the inner surface sheet, the closely spaced heat pipes, the isolated heat pipes and the outer surface sheet.
