PURPOSE: A method and an apparatus used in the same are provided which selectively removes hydrogen sulfide only from a mixed gas of steam, air and hydrogen sulfide generated from a slag sand stack during manufacturing of slag sand of a blast furnace, and efficiently removes hydrogen sulfide more efficiently by efficiently controlling sodium hydroxide. CONSTITUTION: The method for removing hydrogen sulfide generated during manufacturing of slag sand of a blast furnace by spraying cooling water containing sodium hydroxide comprises the steps of manufacturing a sodium hydroxide aqueous solution by adding sodium hydroxide to spraying cooling water of the upper part of a stack separately from cooling water; reacting the aqueous solution with hydrogen sulfide by spraying the sodium hydroxide aqueous solution to the upper part of the slag sand stack according to the efficiency for removing hydrogen sulfide to be obtained, and recovering cooling water containing non-reactive sodium hydroxide fallen into the stack; maintaining a pH of cooling water according to an efficiency for removing hydrogen sulfide required by adding sodium hydroxide to the spraying cooling water at the upper part of the stack in an equivalent ratio for discharging concentration of hydrogen sulfide generated in the stack; and repeating the above steps by recirculating the cooling water.
