Novel anticancer lectin, corresponding gene and isolation method of korean mistletoe lectin

PURPOSE: The anticancer lectin isolated from Viscum album L. var. coloratum, its gene and an its isolating method are provided, thereby isolating the lectin in a higher purity. CONSTITUTION: The gene encoding anticancer lectin isolated from Viscum album L. var. coloratum has the nucleotide sequence of figure 1. The anticancer lectin isolated from Viscum album L. var. coloratum has the amino acid sequence of figure 2. The anticancer lectin is isolated by passing the lectin of Viscum album L. var. coloratum through the column packed with asialofetuin-Sepharose 4B. An anticancer composition contains the anticancer lectin isolated from Viscum album L. var. coloratum as an active ingredient. The lectin is quantified by using polyclonal anti-VCA antibody-labeled ELLA system.
