Burkholderia cepacia 2A-12 and Method for Bioremediation of PAH Contamination using the Strain

PURPOSE: Provided are Burkholderia cepacia 2A-12 and a method for bioremediation of PAH contamination using the strain, thereby providing environmentally friendly bioremediation effect on PAH contamination at normal temperature under normal pressure without using chemicals. CONSTITUTION: Burkholderia cepacia 2A-12(KCTC 10163BP) is isolated from the soil contaminated with oil. A microbial preparation for bioremediation of PAH contamination characteristically contains the Burkholderia cepacia 2A-12(KCTC 10163BP) strain. The bioremediation of PAH contamination is characterized by contacting the Burkholderia cepacia 2A-12(KCTC 10163BP) strain to or spraying the microbial preparation mixed with yeast extract on the contaminated area.
