PURPOSE: An apparatus and a method for power saving type automatic power factor regulation are provided to maintain a power factor at 95% and prevent power loss by adding an automatic power factor regulator to a power saver. CONSTITUTION: An apparatus comprises a current transformer(100) for transforming current from a three-phase input power source; a power factor detector(110) for detecting power factor by the signal output from the current transformer; a plurality of automatic regulators(160), wherein each of automatic regulators includes a switching portion(120) for switching on/off the signal detected by the power factor detector, a serial reactor portion(130) for removing harmonic waves of the signal output from the switching portion and removing noises for improving waveform, a condenser portion(150) for supplying condensible ineffective power and improving power factor, and discharge coil portion(140) for discharging residual current of the condenser portion; and a power saver(180) connected to the input power source, and which includes a power line, a voltage induction winding portion, and a plurality of magnetic contacts.
