FIELD: measurement technology. SUBSTANCE: way of complex test of out-of-round gauge includes measurement of error of metrological characteristic with the help of reference standard. Test is carried out by means of reference standard which cross-section profile satisfies condition of expansion into Fourier series. Coefficients of Fourier series are known and assumed as reference ones. Deviations of tested out-of-round gauge from form of reference standard are measured and profile obtained as result of measurements is expanded into Fourier series, amplitudes and phases of obtained harmonics are compared with reference ones and comparison results are employed to characterize precision of out-of-round gauge. Reference standard comes in the form of cylindrical part with flat. Cross-section profile should in this case satisfy condition of possibility of expansion into Fourier series. Relations of diameter of part and depth of flat determine coefficient of harmonic components of Fourier series assumed as reference ones. EFFECT: enhanced accuracy of test. 2 cl, 1 dwg, 1 tbl
