FIELD: food-processing industry and biotechnology. SUBSTANCE: food product has high-ploidy strain of Fungi imperfecti, with each parent thereof having genetically restricted growth capability not shared with other of parents. One of parents is, for example, auxotrophic to two amino compounds selected from the group consisting of histidine, arginine and adenine, and other parent is auxotrophic to two other of said amino compounds. Nucleic acid content in strain is preferably less than 2 wt%. Strain may be obtained by killing of high-ploidy strain of Fungi imperfecti and simultaneously reducing nucleic acid content therein to value less than 2 wt% by treating with water. Food product obtaining method involves producing high-ploidy edible strain of Fusarium by joint growing of two auxotrophs in medium comprising nutritive substances required for development of both auxotrophs; growing organism produced in said culture in minimal medium. Method is used for producing of food for human by growing of strain under conditions where reversion or partial reversion into haploid form (forms) is reduced to minimal extent.
