The partial tunnel construction consists of a roof (3) supported on side support walls (1) etc. The roof is of cross struts (2) and vertical or inclined sound-absorbent panels (5a,b,c) on the struts. The panels project downward from an imaginary horizontal line, e.g. the tunnel roof, to different depths. The lower edges of the panels are located at different levels. Two panels projecting to a low, but not the lowest level, have a slightly higher panel positioned between them, to create an intermediate cavity. The panels are of different thickness, and have light scattering or light reflecting surfaces. They are positioned in a zig-zag or wave pattern along the road (4).
