The system for loading lorries on railway wagons comprises pallets, on to which the lorries are driven. These are then transferred by rows of drive wheels which cooperate with racks on the underside of each pallet to flat-bed wagons. Independent claims are included for: (a) a pallet for use in the method; and (b) a flat bed wagon for use in the method.
