Calculation of thermal emission spectra based on classical electromagnetism theory whereby the Schrodinger equation is modified so that it corresponds to a classical electromagnetic wave (Helmholtz) equation in an inhomogeneous medium with resonant, evanescent oscillation modes. Thus the Eigen frequencies correspond to the Rydberg radiation formula. With the equations so formulated FEM and BEM computer program methods can be applied to the calculation of the emission of thermal radiation.
