The scanner has a flat mirror (47) set at an angle of 45 degrees to the axis of rotation (49) of a motor (21) driven shaft (17). A calibration disk on the shaft (51) is placed adjacent to a reader (53). There are two pulsed lasers (11) incorporating laser diodes (69), each with its own lens (33) on either side of a big lens (35) for a light receiver (15) array (59). The receiver array has an optical filter (57) in front of it and is positioned on a support board (61) at the bottom of a shaft (55). The system includes an evaluation circuit (25) and a control circuit (27). There is a connection region (63) with a connection (65) to a computer (67).
