The simulation device has actual axis values (xi1,xi2) calculated from required axis values (xs1,xs2), provided by a numerical control (1), using a calculator (10) employing mathematical models for the drives and the mechanics of the machine. The calculated actual axis values are supplied to a machine model (8), providing condition signals (9) for the numerical control, with simultaneous simulation of regulated and unregulated axes.
