A method for monitoring a technical process for carrying out a chemical reaction involves (a) on-line measurement of several process variables, especially the concentration of educts and products at the input and output of the continuous technical process, and arithmetic averaging over largely constant time intervals Delta T, (b) calculation of one or more process parameters, especially the throughput (turnover) by data validating for each time interval Delta T and using the measured (see a) process variables, (c) the process parameter calculated under (b) is used for regulating the technical process in which the process parameter serves as the regulating variable, (d) an actual accuracy of the process variables (measured under a) is measured in time intervals of 10 to 30 hours, by means of data validation. The calculated actual accuracy is used (e) as an instantaneous previous time interval Delta T2.
