The sealing assembly (1), for a journal bearing (2), seals the ring gap (6) between the bearing bushing (3) and the journal (4). A main seal (8) is preceded by a leading seal (9), with plate springs (10) inserted between the roller bodies (5) and the main seal. When in place, the main seal is positioned by a bent section (12) of the reinforcement (11) against the inner wall (7) of the bearing bushing. The main seal has two spaced sealing lips (18,19) which, together, are supported at a section (20) of the journal of a constant diameter. The sealing lip towards the leading seal is enclosed at the outer side by a tubular spring (21). A radial end section (29) of the bearing bushing is against an edge (27) of the leading seal, to form a sealing labyrinth (30). The leading seal has a sealing lip (28) against the reinforcement of the main seal. The seal is of an elastic material.
