The method involves guiding or applying at least one laser beam (27) and at least one light arc in a direction towards a welded joint region formed between at least two workpiece parts (41,43). During an on-going welding process optimal coverage of the welded joint region by the laser beam can be adjusted depending on the real geometry and/or profile of the welded joint. Independent claims are also included for the following: (a) an arrangement for laser hybrid welding (b) and a laser hybrid welding head.
