A method for providing switching signals in which each signal is generated depending whether a switching device is selectively actuated by a user. Within the framework of actuating the switching device a setting up signal is coupled into the user and transmitted by the user, and the switching signal is generated on the basis of the setting up signal which is coupled into the user. An independent claim is included for a switching system for providing switching signals.
