Ink dosing element (16) for printing ink (14) in an offset inking device (18), whereby the dosing element, within an influencing region (12) has a physical effect on the ink. The dosing element incorporates a measurement element (10) that makes it suitable for measuring a physical value of the ink, from which its viscosity can be determined. An Independent claim is made for a method for measuring the viscosity of printing ink in an offset printing device.
