The solar cell-pump unit contains solar cell(s) (1) on its surface, providing driving energy for immersion pump (2). The solar cell is located on a float (3) of any arbitrary shape and suitable material. The pump is fitted releasably under solar cell. Water delivered by pump is delivered, via a riser (5) above water level as fountain. The releasable connection of solar energy to pump is provided by plug and socket connector (4). Independent claims are included for fountain spring.
