The linen closet comprises a dirty linen container (1) and a fresh laundry container (3) with a decontamination chamber (4) provided between the two. The volume for the fresh laundry should be between 50 and 75 percent of the maximum capacity of the dirty linen container. The opening (2) for the dirty linen container is in the bottom of the decontamination chamber. The fresh linen container can have a heat source.
