The container of predominantly flat material has a front wall (VW) and a rear wall (RW) with a cut-out in the front wall and a holding space for an object in front of the rear wall in the region of the cut-out and with a bridge (ST) across the cut-out which is relocatable between a first position curving away from the rear wall and a second position curving towards it. The bridge is connected to the front wall and/or rear wall by opposite ends, and between the ends has a bend area with reduced stiffness. Independent claims are also included for the following: (a) a preform for a container as a two-layered flat form; and (b) a packaging unit with the aforesaid container.
