The cornice is made in two parts - a body (28) of moulded and preferably reinforced cement to provide a connection between the building wall (22) and woodwork, and an external moulding (30) of dressed stone. There is a recess (32) between the body and lower edge of the moulding to be filled with the material (24) used for rendering the wall. The moulding is fixed to the main body by rods (42), preferably of stainless steel.
