Telescopic chassis consists of tubular lengthwise members (1, 2, 3, 4) with pairs of front wheels (5, 6) and rear wheels (9, 10) that can be extended to increase the distance between the front and rear wheel axles by about 15 cm and retracted to reduce the distance to 10 cm. The rear wheels are mounted on sliding bushes (13, 14) on the larger telescopic members that can be moved to the front and rear by a pedal bar (8), while the front wheels are mounted on the ends of the smaller telescopic members and are operated by a transverse tube (7). The larger telescopic members contain springs and sliding bushes for the smaller members. Both the pedal bar and transverse tube are also telescopic, allowing the chassis to be contracted transversely as well as lengthwise.
