The box has side flaps with an edge flange (7) on the inside and bridged at the front by a multi-part sleeve. The facing longitudinal edge areas which form a hanging channel (12) has a protruding strip (19) which forms together with an area of the sleeve part set in front of the channel the side edges of a groove (20) in which an edge (16) of the flange designed as a spring can engage. The parts of the sleeve are formed as rolled sheet metal parts whilst the spring strip protruding from the channel is formed by a double-walled fold.
