Aircraft anti-collision equipment has a display device on which a 2D map of the terrain being flown over is displayed. The map has colored sections on it that represent the risk of a collision. Allocation of positions and colors of the sections is based on the aircraft's current altitude and its predicted short-term future altitude. The display is updated gradually without sudden jumps so that the displayed view shows the most relevant and useful map at all times in respect of the risk of a collision.
