The filtration unit has a case (1) in contact with the water surface. Water is drawn in (3) by a submerged electric motor (2) driving a propeller (4). A narrow passage (5) carries water to the top of the unit, where a hole (6) in the passage allows the flow to create suction which draws in water (7) at the top. Water passes through a filtration cartridge (8) before return (10) to the pool.
