A tissue cutting device B10/B comprises an outer cannula B15/B with a tissue receiving opening B25/B at its distal end and a cutting member B17/B slidably disposed within the outer cannula B15/B, the cutting member B17/B having a cutting edge B35/B. A handpiece B12/B supports a drive mechanism which is operably coupled to the inner cutting B17/B member to move the cutting edge B35/B across the tissue receiving opening B25./B A vacuum source is in fluid communication with the proximal end of the cutting member. A hub B75/B, having a distal end attached the outer cannula B15/B and a proximal end detachably mounted to the handpiece B12/B, permits separation of the outer cannula B15/B from the handpiece B12/B and the cutting member B17/B.
