PPROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a new fluorescent reagent. PSOLUTION: The fluorescent reagent containing a fluorescent dye group and an intercalate group can selectively detect a double-stranded DNA or a double-stranded RNA in a manner that when this reagent comes into contact with the double-stranded DNA or the double-stranded RNA, the intercalate group intercalates between base pairs in the double-stranded nucleic acid, and as a result, the quenching caused by stacking between the fluorescent dye group and the intercalate group in the reagent molecule is broken off so that the fluorescent intensity is elevated.
