PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an agitation pile construction apparatus which can quickly carry out construction work by quickly detecting the location of a rod, and to provide an agitation pile construction method using the apparatus.;SOLUTION: The agitation pile construction apparatus 5 is for use in the construction of a structure in the soft ground in order to strengthen a predetermined deep stratum in the ground in the vicinity of a construction site from above the ground. Specifically the agitation pile construction apparatus carries out the work by discharging a hardening agent while progressing in the ground, and agitating and mixing the hardening agent and soil around the construction site, to thereby penetrate the rod 55 into the ground for forming a columnar improved body in the ground.
