DEVICE, METHOD, AND PROGRAM FOR TRANSLATION SKILL ESTIMATION

PPROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To judge nearly accurate translation skill without using all translation evaluation sentences by presenting the translation evaluation sentences in the decreasing order of correlation and estimating a translation skill value when an estimation error becomes a desired error or when the minimum estimation error is detected. PSOLUTION: A translation skill estimating device 10 includes a CPU 12, which is configured to present translation evaluation sentences to a user one after another in the decreasing order of correlation with premeasured translation skill values of a plurality of examinees, calculates a mean value of automatically evaluated values calculated by evaluating translation results of the user from first to current sentences, calculate an estimation error in a translation skill value of the user estimated through recursive analysis using translation skill values of the plurality of examinees, and judge whether the calculated estimation error becomes less than the desired error or whether the minimum estimation error value is detected. The translation skill value corresponding to the estimation error when the desired error and less are reached or when the minimum value is obtained is estimated as a translation skill value of the user.
