METHOD FOR PREDICTING ONSET AGE OF SPORADIC ADVANCED AGE ONSET TYPE ALZHEIMER'S DISEASE

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To predict an onset age of sporadic advanced age onset type Alzheimer's disease.;SOLUTION: The subject method for predicting the onset age of the sporadic advanced age onset type Alzheimer's disease comprises measuring repeated frequency of APOC2 microsatellite of a subject to be examined by each step of (a) a step for extracting a genome from a cell collected from the subject to be examined, (b) a step for obtaining a nucleic acid fragment by amplifying a gene containing APOC2 microsatellite and (c) a step for measuring repeated frequency of APOC2 microsatellite in the nucleic acid fragment obtained by the item (b). It is predicted that the onset age of Alzheimer's disease becomes high as repeated frequency of microsatellite which exist in APOC2 microsatellite increases.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI
