METHOD OF STERILIZING INTRAOCULAR LENS

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method of sterilizing an intraocular lens using a material whose volume varies according to the moisture content rate for sterilizing the intraocular lens while inhibiting the expansion of the volume and unfolding of the fold during sterilization, and storing the intraocular lens after the sterilization process.;SOLUTION: The method of sterilization comprises a first step of drying the intraocular lens made of a hydrophilic material to expand with moisture in the folded state and removing the moisture included inside the lens, a second step of setting the intraocular lens folded in the first step inside an expansion limiting member with a prescribed inner diameter for limiting the unfolding and/or expansion of the folded intraocular lens with moisture, and a third step of sterilizing the intraocular lens set inside the expansion limiting member in the second step.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI
