INTEGRAL TRANSFORM MATRIX SELECTION METHOD IN VIDEO CODING AND RELATED INTEGRAL TRANSFORM METHOD

PPROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an integral transform matrix selection method in video coding and a related integral transform method. PSOLUTION: According to the First Audio and Video Coding Standard of China (AVS) to be established, in which 8×8 integer DCT transformation is adopted, a method of selecting a transform base of integer transformation is proposed to be used for evaluating the quality of the transform base from de-correlation efficiency and energy concentration efficiency. Computational complexity is also taken into account in the selection procedure. Based on such a method, two groups of 88 transform bases (5, 6, 4, 1) and (4, 5, 3, 1) are selected, and a fast transform algorithm for such two groups is provided. PCOPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI
