PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method with which closure capacity of an optical cable is greatly increased without cutting the cable in exchanging the closure during new installation of an optical communication network that requires a number of facilities resulting in an increase of the optical cables, additional branching or the like and an increase in the capacity of the closure.;SOLUTION: The method to greatly increase the capacity of an optical cable closure is provided with a step in which a residual length tray of an existing closure is taken out from the sleeve of the existing closure with the optical cable whose core is stored in the residual length storage tray and the optical cable of the existing closure is taken out from the holding section of the existing closure and a step in which the taken out residual length storage tray is mounted onto the sleeve of a new closure in the new closure having at least one new residual length storage tray and the taken out optical cable is mounted onto the holding section of the new closure.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI
