PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide glass for solidifying radioactive waste which has the characteristics that it can solidify a plenty of waste, has small rate of leaching with respect to water, allows a large quantity of phosphoric acid component in waste, and show little elution of sodium, and a solidification method for radioactive waste.;SOLUTION: The glass for solidification of radioactive waste consists of magnesium phosphate group glass, containing MgO and P2O5 by mole ratio (MgO/P2O5) of 0.25 to 2.35. After mixing the glass with radioactive waste so as to be a radioactive waste content of 5 to 60 wt%, the mixture is heat-melted and cooled to solidify.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI
