PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for examining cancer for maximally accurately and easily assessing the carcinogenicity of chemical substances.;SOLUTION: The method for examining a precancerous lesion of rat liver negative to an antibody recognizing a placenta-type glutathione-S-transferase enzyme(GSTP) comprises the 1st step(1) of assaying in a specimen the expression level of a gene having a base sequence registered in the Genbank with either one of Accession numbers given in the Accession number group 1:AA799336, and the like or one more genes selected from the ortholog thereof and the 2nd step(2) of comparing the result of the expression level obtained above with the reference expression level of the gene, and based on the difference, assessing the presence/absence of the lesion in the specimen or the degree of the onset thereof.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI
