PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a novel polymer compatibilizer which can compatibilize insufficiently compatible diene rubbers with each other, does not retard vulcanization, and can improve wearing resistance, tensile strength, etc., and to provide a rubber composition having a satisfactory vulcanization rate and excellent wearing resistance, tensile strength, etc. ;SOLUTION: The copolymer comprises at least one block A which is a polymer of a conjugated diene and at least one block B which is a random copolymer of a conjugated diene with an aromatic vinyl compound in an A to B weight ratio of 5/95 to 95/5. The block B has a content of aromatic vinyl units of 1-50wt.%. The block copolymer has a weight-average mol.wt. (M) of 100,000-5,000,000 and has at least two transition points in the range of -150 to +150°C as determined with a differential scanning calorimeter.
