PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain an electrophotographic photoreceptor using a single layer type photosensitive layer superior in chargeability and sensitivity, and rich in the stability of potential characteristics against repeated uses of electrophotographic processes by using a specified compound for an organic electron transfer material. ;SOLUTION: The photosensitive layer contains a charge generating material and an organic positive hole transfer material and the organic electron transfer material dispersed into a binder resin, and the electron transfer material is represented by formula I in which R1 is a thiophene ring group having a nitro group; each of R2 and R3 is an H or halogen atom or an optionally substituted alkyl group or a -(CH2=CH2)p-NO2 or -(CH2=CH2)q-R4 group or a group represented by formula II or the like; each of R4 and R5 is an aromatic or heterocyclic group substituted by a nitro group; R6 is an optionally substituted alkyl or aralkyl group; each of (p) and (q) is 1 or 2; and (r) is 0 or 1.;COPYRIGHT: (C)1999,JPO
