PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To produce metal powder which stably exhibits higher antibacterial and antifungal properties by further increasing the antibacterial and antifungal of Ni based powder containing hydrogen.;SOLUTION: The Ni based powder having excellent antibacterial and antifungal properties is obtained by sticking a P and/or S-containing compound to the surface of Ni or Ni alloy powder in which the content of Ni in an Ni or Ni alloy part is ≥20 mass%, and the content of hydrogen is 1 to 10,000 ppm. The sticking quantity of the P and/or S-containing compound is ≤1% in terms of a ratio occupied in the whole of the powder, and the total content of P and/or S in the compounds is ≥0.001% in terms of a ratio occupied in the whole of the powder.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2003,JPO
