PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a γ-polyglutamic acid-producing microorganism in which γ-polyglutamic acid is stably produced in high yield, the obtained γ-polyglutamic acid is not enzymatically degraded and the molecular weight distribution is in a constant region, a method for obtaining the same and a method for producing γ-polyglutamic acid using the microorganism.;SOLUTION: Disclosed are a γ-polyglutamic acid degradation enzyme-defective mutant in which a γ-glutamyltranspeptidase gene is mutated in the γ- polyglutamic acid-producing microorganism, a γ-polyglutamic acid degradation enzyme-defective mutant in which a γ-glutamic acid hydrase gene is mutated, a γ-polyglutamic acid degradation enzyme-defective mutant in which the γ- glutamyltranspeptidase gene and the γ-glutamic acid hydrase gene are mutated, the method for obtaining these mutants and the method for producing γ- polyglutamic acid using the microorganisms.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2003,JPO
