摘要

The method involves correcting a raw optical signal which is characteristic of thickness variation based on speed, tension and size of a strip to eliminate noise due to strip vibrations. Fast Fourier transform is applied to the signal to obtain wavelength and amplitude of the variation. Whirling parameters of the strip are modified when a preset tolerance limit is attained to reduce the variation and maintain constant strip thickness. An independent claim is also included for an installation of implementing a method of measuring and correcting ripples type thickness variation at a surface of a strip.
