The present invention discloses a ready-to-use, stable injectable thiopental pharmaceutical composition which may be packaged in unit dose glass ampoules or multiple dose vials. Also described is a method for stabilizing aqueous thiopental solutions as well as the use of thiopental to produce a medicament.
