AN IMPROVED TROCHANTERIC SUPPORT PLATE FOR INTERNAL FIXATION OF INTER-TROCHANTERIC FRACTURES

This invention relates to an Improved Trochanteric Support Plate for internal fixation of inter-trochanteric fracture, based on anatomical finding of Angle Y (fig 7)_ and to be used with Dynamic Hip Screw (D.H.S.) for other Side plate implant for internal fixation of inter-trochanteric fractures. An improved trochanteric supported plate (Fig 1) for interanl fixation of inter-trochanteric fracture comprising a Lower narrower part (2) of Plate, for fixing distal fragment of upper shaft femur (11) having vertically placed holes (5) in the plate matching with the corresponding holes in the D.H.S. side plate (6) over which it is to be fitted with cortical acrews and an Upper broader part (1) of the plate having a larger central hole (4), allowing backsliding of sliding screw of D.H.S. (8) and two smaller holes '(3) in the upper part of plate, situated eccentrically one on each side, and making an angle of 20 degrees (or 25) with central vertiacl line of plate, ofr passing a second screw (7) in head & neck femur (9), using the anterior hole.
