Books and music are dealt with by a digital printing establishment (1), which offers them via a web shop (3). The items are stored in digital form in a data storage unit (9) and on ordering (A) are printed by a printer (11) and delivered (8) to a customer (13). The delivery of the digital components of the books and the agreement of a reimbursement of rights of an author are automated by a software program (27), via which an author (25) can automatically place (C) via the Internet (21) his claim in the data storage unit. The program then automatically determines a reimbursement per book, which is sent to the author. The program then asks the author if this complies with the advised reimbursement. Once this is satisfied, the program determines the selling price of the book and the publication is placed in the sales list of the web shop.
